2024 marks the return of the most prestigious competition in UK Bartending – The National Cocktail Competition.

Bringing together the most talented mixologists and bartenders from across the nation, the 2024 National Cocktail Competition will challenge the UK’s best to demonstrate their skill, nerve and creativity in a breakneck competition to crown the UK’s most talented bartender.

We’re opening the stage to you, giving you the platform to showcase your creative talents and your mixology skills as you compete to be named the UK’s best – and land yourself a spot at the IBA World Cocktail Competition in Madeira this October.

Taking place in London this September, we want to see your innovation and originality take the centre stage as you build fresh, unique recipes to stun our judges and book a spot on the flight to Portugal for the World Final.

The theme of this year’s competition is to celebrate the 90th anniversary with your cocktail!

Be inspired by the UKBG heritage, founders, and its current era. Incorporate elements that reflect the organization’s rich history as an IBA Founder Member.

Craft a unique cocktail that tells a story, celebrates the past, and embraces the present. For more information, explore our website in the roots and heritage section, head to the British Library, or contact our curator, Luca Rapetti. To capture the current era, focus on the UKBG’s recent revamp and relaunch.

At the World Cocktail Competition this year the core theme will be Asian Fusion.
